TUSCON, Ariz. -- Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James has checked into a rehab facility in Arizona, according to a spokesman for the actor.

"Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues," his rep said in a statement to People magazine. "He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage."

A member of the medical team at Sierra Tucson, which treats drug, alcohol and sex addiction among other disorders, also confirmed to celebrity website TMZ that James is a patient there.

Last week, James, 40, was pulled over by the California Highway patrol on the 10 Freeway near Blythe, Calif. for driving without a front license plate and with tinted windows.

James reportedly told the officer he was going to Arizona to try to save his marriage with Bullock.

At least three women have come forward claiming to have had an affair with James, and a fourth is said to be considering her options.

Tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee was the first woman to come forward alleging an affair with James.

And Us Weekly reported that James would regularly post Internet ads looking for "hot, tattooed biker chicks with big boobs," and then invite the girls back to his West Coast Choppers bike shop in Long Beach.

In a statement, James took responsibility for his actions, but stopped short of admitting the affairs.

"It's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way," James said in the statement to People.

Bullock has reportedly moved out of the home she shared with James.

A representative for the actress denied reports that both she and James have been shopping around for divorce lawyers.
