We should never forget them or what they did for us. Men and women who rushed into the wake of terror to saved lives, secured and the helped to rebuild America. They are the heroes of 9/11, more humbly known as First responders.
You know their sacrifice. Almost a thousand died that day. Over a thousand more have died since from Ground Zero's poisons. many are dying still.
We are just a couple of weeks away from the tenth anniversary of the day the towers burned and fell. The victims will be remembered in a solemn ceremony. Their loved ones will gather, as they do every year, and they will be joined by....
POLITICIANS! Hundreds of them. Most of whom were running for safety on September 11, 2001. Now with ten years in the year view mirror they are ready to make an appearance to get some face time on TV. This is all made even more sinister by the fact that they will be taking up space that should be reserved for the heroes of 9/11, who are not invited.
this is an appeal to each and every politician scheduled to attend the ceremony to give his or her seat to a First Responder. Believe me, that gesture will not be ignored by me, by others in the media or by New York.
The 9/11 First Responders for heroes for you. now be a hero for them.
