Mendte: Balance Or Quit

We are seeing the true colors of Republicans in Congress as they work to extend tax cuts to the wealthy and pay for those cuts by increasing the deficit by hundreds of Billions of dollars. They blocked 2 bills that would extend tax breaks for the majority of Americans without increasing the deficit. After getting elected into office in the 2010 election with doom & gloom ads stating the "skyrocketing" deficit was going to "destroy" the future of our country and our children (some complete with nuclear mushroom clouds behind children), they fight for tax breaks for the wealthy that increase the deficit by hundreds of Billions? The plan they countered with even costs jobs, estimates of up to 250,000 middle class jobs lost to extend tax cuts for the wealthy. Almost all the new income over the past 25 years has gone to the wealthiest 1% and Republicans are willing to increase the deficit and cut jobs in order to extend tax cuts for the wealthy. Their current actions show tax cuts for the wealthy definitely trump concerns over jobs and the deficit. I've heard them say their #1 priority was the deficit, jobs and making President Obama a one term President, but I've never heard them mention making the wealthy richer as their top priority. The Republican party has become puppets for the wealthy and I doubt we'll be seeing them quit any time soon.
