As I watch the Republican debate tonight I was grateful that the fight between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich was cut short by a commercial. Never was I so happy to see a commercial.
I was struck at how uncomfortable Romney is on the attack. I think it is not in his nature and he is first and foremost a gentleman. Newt Gingrich is very comfortable in a negative debate. In fact, he seems comfortable.
I know Romney has to show the party he can be tough, but it is not a wise strategy to go on the attack against Gingrich as he will eventually self-destruct as he always does. In fact, I have dubbed the Gingrich candidacy as Mission Impossible as it could self-destruct in any ten seconds.
