MIDDLE ISLAND, N.Y. (WPIX) -
A Coram man will be arraigned on DWI charges Saturday after he allegedly plowed his car into a bar on Long Island.
George Plunkett, 63, was arrested after he crashed his car through a patio area at Wellington Bar and Grill on Middle Country Road in Middle Island. It happened just before 11 p.m Friday.
Plunkett struck multiple people; police say the injuries were serious, but not life-threatening.
The bar suffered some structural damage.
Cops say they smelled alcohol on Plunkett's breath, and that he had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and trouble standing.
He's been charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
