Straphangers on the uptown 6 train were treated to quite an unusual show Tuesday night as a man donning an MTA shirt began to wrestle a live chicken.

A rider apparently taped video of the entire incident and posted it to his website, which was later picked up by several blogs.

The video shows a man hugging and holding the chicken over his head in the middle of a subway car. At one point, it appears the man even kisses and hugs the fowl.

According to MTA rules, live animals not in an "enclosed container" are not allowed on the trains.

New York City Transit Spokeswoman Deirdre Parker said since the man was wearing an MTA patch on his sweater, the Department of Subways is looking at photos to see if he can be identified.
