Grammy Award-winning R&B singer, D'Angelo was arrested Saturday after allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 in exchange for oral sex.The "Brown Sugar" singer had been driving alone through the West Village with $12,000 stashed in his supped-up Range Rover when he propositioned the woman, the New York Post reported.
D'Angelo, 36, whose real name is Michael Archer, took the officer to be a prostitute. He was immediately arrested at Greenwich and Horatio streets at about 2:30 a.m., the Post said.
The singer has since been charged with solicitation.
His manager declined to comment.
