Empire State Building Honors World Diabetes Day
The Empire State Building was bathed in blue Saturday night, in honor of World Diabetes Day, whose symbol is a blue circle.

The landmark was one of hundreds of world-famous monuments - like the London Eye Ferris wheel and Japan's Tokyo Tower -- wearing blue, Niagara Falls included. It's all in an effort to raise awareness of the millions around the world who suffer from the disease, and in many cases die from its complications.

Health officials estimate some 24 million Americans are diabetic.
