NEW YORK (WPIX)—
The fiancée of a Boston college medical student accused of killing a New York City masseuse after meeting her on the "erotic services" section of Craigslist, is apparently moving on with her life.Bob Honecker, the attorney representing Megan McAllister, said Tuesday on ABC's 'Good Morning America,' that his client last visited 23-year-old Philip Markoff on June 11 when she traveled to Boston to meet with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
"She told him that she planned to attend medical school," Honecker said on the morning news program. "Also, she let him know that she did not expect to return to Boston and it would be quite a long period of time, if ever, before she saw him again."
In addition, Honecker said McAllister has canceled the couple's engagement and wedding.
According to reports, McAllister testified this month in front of a grand jury that indicted Markofff last week on murder and assault charges.
The so-called-Craigslist killer pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges of murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and weapons violations, all related to the shooting death of 25-year-old Julissa Brisman.
Markoff is accused of beating and murdering Brisman in her posh Boston hotel room on April 14. During the investigation, authorities reportedly found a gun inside Markoff's home, magazines, cellphones, plastic ties and a laptop filled with conversations Markoff had with Brisman. They also found four pairs of women's panties stuffed underneath his mattress.
In addition, Markoff is facing charges related to the armed robbery of another woman, 29-year-old Trisha Leffler, at a Boston hotel. He has also been charged with attacking a third woman in a Rhode Island hotel days after he allegedly murdered Brisman.
Investigators said Markoff met each of the women on Craigslist and used bogus email addresses and prepaid cellphones to set up meetings with them.
Markoff is being held without bail. A tentative trial date has been made for the year 2010.
