Rebuilding At Ground Zero Is A "No-Go"
NEW YORK, N.Y. (WPIX) - The eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks is Friday, and the resurrection effort at Ground Zero continues to move at a snail's pace. The Port Authority Of New York and New Jersey says a memorial Freedom Tower and transit hub should open by 2014 -- at the latest. But, there's no firm date for three office towers which are suppose to help line the eastern side of the site.

Only one is under construction, and the public has taken notice.

Last month, a Quinnipiac University poll of 1,290 voters found more than half of city voters believe the rebuilding is not going well. And more than 60% don't believe the high profile projects -- the 1,776-foot Freedom Tower and the Sept.11 Memorial -- will be finished by the announced deadlines.

The margin of error for the poll is plus or minus 2.7 percentage points.
