4 NY Schools Put Under Lockdown After "Parental Domestic Situation"
MILLER PLACE, N.Y. (WPIX) - Four schools in the Miller Place School District were placed on lockdown Friday following an unspecified "parental domestic situation," officials said.

The lockdown, which began some time after 11 a.m., was lifted at about 1:50 p.m., according to a statement from deputy superintendent Marianne Figuera on the district's web site.

The district reportedly sent an automated phone call to parents notifying them of the situation and asked them not to go to the schools.

Police said there were no 911 calls made during the lockdown and believe it may have been done as merely a precaution.

The district posted a message on its website saying the rest of the school day would proceed as scheduled.

All school buildings will dismiss as per their regular schedules and procedures. After-school activities and athletics will continue as scheduled," according to the message.
