Fired Workers Claim Harassment
NEW YORK (WPIX) - A group of six Hispanic women working for a prominent government contractor in Edgewood claim that they were fired after being sexually harassed by supervisors at the company.

The women, all of whom grew up in El Salvador and now reside on Long Island, worked for Alan Ritchey, a Texas-based company with an office in Suffolk County.

During a press conference Wednesday, the women said they were fired last June because they didn't give in to the sexual advances. In addition, the women claim they were told they must have sex in order to keep their jobs.

The women reportedly filed the complaint against the company with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission with help from the Workplace Project, an immigrant advocacy group based in Hempstead.

So far, no lawsuits have been filed. The EEOC has not yet issued its findings in the case.
