One of the victims wounded during the Fort Hood massacre Thursday has been identified as 20-year-old Alan Carroll, a resident of Bridgewater, N.J., officials confirmed.

Carroll was living at Fort Hood's Soldier Processing Readiness Center in preparation for his deployment to Afghanistan when Army psychiatrist Major Nadal Malik Hasan opened fire on the staff, killing 13 and injuring 30.

The New Jersey native was shot in each arm, the chest and the thigh. The 20-year-old, who underwent surgery late Thursday, is now listed in stable condition. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Carroll graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan High School in 2007 and was a volunteer with the local fire company.
