A man recently released from a New Jersey prison was pulled off an Amtrak train in Colorado for apparently mentioning Al Qaeda and making threatening comments to fellow passengers, police said.Ojore Nuru Lutalo, 64, of Elizabeth, was en route to Chicago Tuesday after reportedly attending the Los Angeles Anarchist Book Fair last weekend. Passengers reportedly overheard Lutalo speaking on his cell phone, saying he hadn't killed anyone yet and was demanding help from his alleged cohort on the other end.
"We have to work in small groups ... They can hold you for 18 months ... Do they have security on these trains? ... Are you with me or not?" Lutalo reportedly said.
According to reports, Lutalo later mention Al Qaeda before saying, "17th century tactics won't work. We have 21st century tactics."
In addition, the train conductor said Lutalo, who also goes by the name Leroy Bunting, was covered in a tan blanket, which also raised concerns among Amtrack personnel.
Lutalo was arrested at the La Junta train station in southeast Colorado and released Thursday after posting bond. He was charged with endangering public transportation.
Lutalo was free on $30,000 bond Friday after his arrest at a Colorado train station.
He was released from prison in August after serving a 27-year sentence for aggravated assault, robbery and weapons possession.
