PROSPECT PARK, N.Y. (WPIX)—
The weekend's massive storm has downed thousands of trees across the tri-state area.

The fallen trees have taken lives, caused power outages and widespread damage to homes, cars and buildings.

PIX11 morning news anchor decided to head to Prospect Park Brooklyn to check in on two massive oaks that fell onto a children's playground.

Today he shares his reporter diary, asking us to consider the downed trees as more than a nuisance but a loss to our communities.
