LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (WPIX) -
Students at Patchogue-Medford High School may have built the robot of the future.
The kids got a much needed boost Wednesday to compete in an international competition - a donation in the form of a $5,000 check from Gershow Recycling.
The money will help buy parts and tools in hopes of the students finishing their project by next Friday.
Last year the school finished 8th in the World. This year they are building a robot that can kick a soccer ball through a goal and scale a 7-foot wall. The kids are so advanced in robot building they actually helped the Suffolk County Police Department fix their Bomb Bot.
