Cops: Sex Predator on the Loose in Harlem

HARLEM, N.Y. (WPIX)—
A 21-year-old woman was robbed and raped at gunpoint inside an elevator of a city apartment building Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

According to police, the assault took place at 2937 8th Ave. in Harlem. The victim said the suspect assaulted her in the elevator and then forced her up onto the rooftop where the attack reportedly continued..

Neighbors tells PIX News residents are prohibited from coming up onto the roof.

It isn't clear if the victim lived in the building or was visiting a friend.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video taken from cameras posted in the lobby that may have captured pictures of the suspect.
