Starbucks Corp. is being sued for tea that was too hot.

According to the complaint, Zeynep Inanli suffered second degree burns from tea that was "unreasonably hot, in containers which were not safe."

The customer purchased the tea at the location at the Starbucks located at 685 Third Avenue near 43rd Street in midtown Manhattan. Inanli is seeking unspecified damages.

Starbucks, which is based in Seattle, did not have a comment.

This is not the first time a customer has sued for being served beverages that were too hot. In 1994 a jury ordered McDonald's to pay $2.86 million to Stella Liebeck from New Mexico. She claimed she scalded herself with the restaurant's coffee. The parties later settled.
