CORAM, N.Y. (WPIX)—
A Long Island man is dead following a run-in with police and a stun gun on Sunday.Darryl Bain, 43, of Coram, was allegedly high on cocaine, when he locked himself and his mother in her Long Island home, police said. His mother had an order of protection, fearing for her safety.
Bain's brother called 911, and police responded to the scene. When cops got there, they reportedly heard a struggle, entered the house and fought with Bain.
Investigators say to keep him at bay and get him under control, police tasered him. But, that didn't work, so they tasered Bain again, this time with deadly results.
The medical examiner is in the midst of an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
