A fearless thief smashed a window of an SUV owned by a Long Island county police commissioner and fled with a pricey global position device, police said.

The victim of the cop-defying larceny is none other than Suffolk Police Commissioner Richard Dormer himself.

Dormer said someone broke into the vehicle parked in his driveway in Northport in the early hours of March 15 and made off with the GPS device.

Two days later, the county's top cop reported the crime to the police headquarters, according to a department spokeswoman.

The thief is being handled as a misdemeanor because the damage to the window was less than $250, and the county GPS cost approximately $300.

Police are still searching for the GPS-pilfering suspect.
