MIDTOWN, NY (PIX11) -- A woman trying to repel a male companion ended up sickening commuters on a crowded subway car when she blasted the man in the face with pepper spray, according to reports.
The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. on a southbound 5 train just before it let passengers off at the 59th St. station, according to officials.
According to the New York Post, witnesses said the woman was arguing loudly with the man, who may be her boyfriend or husband, when she uncapped the noxious spray attack.
Sickened passengers stumbled out of the car coughing, and the FDNY was called to the scene where, according to reports, firefighters treated at least three adults.
It is still unclear what, if any, charges the woman will face.
