In what is projected to be the largest wedding renewal ceremony for couples married 50 years or longer, 80 couples, aged between 70- to 96-years-old, will gather at North Hempstead`s Harbor Links Golf Course on Valentine`s Day to renew their wedding vows first committed to each other over 50-70 years ago.
North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Town Clerk Leslie Gross will preside over the extraordinary ceremony which will be followed by a buffet luncheon reception.
Alica and Frank DiGiglio, who have been married for 60 years, are among the couples renewing their vows today. They'll share their secrets to happiness and truly growing old together. The DiGiglio's actual anniversary date is May 25th but February 14th happens to be her youngest grand child's birthday.
