New York is now the sixth and largest state in the country where gay couples will be able to legally get married. The state`s newest law goes into effect in late July, but not everyone is celebrating.

The Catholic Church and the Catholic League say the passage of the bill is leading us down a slippery slope and despite the protections for religious institutions the religious community is coming under attack.
