McCracken County, KY -- A father has been charged after he allegedly left his baby inside an oven for several hours.
Police say 33-year-old Larry Long smoked marijuana before leaving work at a local restaurant Sunday night.
Once Long made it home, he is then thought to have shared about a fifth of whiskey with the five-week-old infant's mother, Brandy Hatton.
Long claims he began to hallucinate after Hatton went to bed.
Hatton reportedly woke up to the sounds of the child crying, and found the infant in the oven.
Long, thankfully, never turned the oven on.
The baby was taken to a hospital where doctors found no injuries.
Investigators say the baby has now been placed with a relative.
Long, charged with endangerment, told police he believes the marijuana was laced with something.
The baby's mother was not immediately charged, but authorities said more charges could be forthcoming as they continue to investigate.
Long is currently being held on $10,000 bond.
