Boy in Fatal Stabbing Suffered Damage to Lung, Artery
An autopsy showed 9-year-old stabbing victim, Anthony Maldonado had a perforated left lung and carotid artery.

The fourth grader, of Palisades Park, N.J., was stabbed inside a housing project Saturday, while visiting relatives.

The boy's uncle told police he knocked on his door at 3:30 a.m., saying he had been stabbed, and then collapsed.

Police were called to the family's sixth floor apartment at 75 LaSalle St., in the Ulysses S. Grant Houses project.

The boy was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police arrested 25-year-old Alejandro Morales in the stabbing.

Anthony had been playing a skateboarding video game with Morales and Morales' two younger brothers, who all lived with the boy's uncle.

The two brothers -- ages 17 and 20 -- reportedly left him with Morales while they picked up late-night hamburgers.
