NEW YORK (WPIX)—
Chris Brown seems to be on a roll. In just a few months, he's managed to tarnish his goodie two-shoes image by beating his pop star girlfriend Rihanna to a pulp, downplaying the incident via YouTube videos proclaiming his innocence and later pleading guilty to the brutal assault. To add insult to injury, Brown told Larry King in an exclusive interview this week, that he doesn't recall beating Rihanna. Well now he's going toe-to-toe with Oprah, accusing the talk show queen of slapping him "in the face" when she aired an episode dedicated to domestic abuse, this past season.
"I commend Oprah on being like, 'This is a problem,' but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school," he said. "She could have been more helpful, like, 'Okay, I'm going to help both of these people out.'"
According to celebrity website TMZ.com, Winfrey is now firing back, basically telling Brown to get over it.
"Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school but she takes domestic abuse very seriously," a rep for Oprah told TMZ. "She hopes he gets the counseling he needs."
Ouch.
Meantime, a source familiar with Brown's endorsement schedule, told the New York Daily News that the R&B singer is pretty much "done."
"Whatever goodwill he had, he's totally ruined it by saying that. What was he thinking?" the source told The News. "And who the hell goes up against Oprah? It just shows he doesn't think."
