SOUTH AMBOY, N.J. (WPIX)—
An explosion in South Amboy completely leveled a home, PIX News has learned.It is not clear what sparked the explosion that occurred around 2:30 p.m on South Feltus Street . However, officials believe gas may have been a factor.
The residence was reportedly a rental home that was owned for 10 years by a couple next door.
Two victims were pulled from the rubble. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Fire officials are currently walking around the affected home and neighboring homes searching for more victims.
Air 11 was over the scene, where there appeared to be no visible flames or fire
Witnesses say the house imploded into a mushroom cloud of smoke.
