Rockland County police are on the hunt for the neighbor of a 32-year-old gym teacher who was found slain inside her Clarkstown condominium Sunday night.According to police, Eric Lau, 32, was home at the time of the homicide. However, Clarkstown Detective Lt. Charles Delo said there is not concrete evidence to link him with the killing.
According to reports, Lau did not show up at work Monday at Pfizer in Pearl River.
Jami Erlich, an elementary school gym teacher at Connor Elementary school since 2000, was found dead inside her Valley Cottage residence around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday. Police are treating her death as a homicide.
Clarkstown police Sgt. Nicholas Lafasciano said besides Lau, police were interviewing several people, including the father and neighbors of the victim.
Ramapo Central School District Superintendent Robert MacNaughton said he was notified of Erlich's sudden death Monday morning.
