Search For Hit-And-Run Driver Who Fatally Mowed Down Bicyclist

Authorities in New Jersey are looking for the driver who fatally mowed down a bicyclist in New Brunswick Wednesday night.

According to police, the driver struck 26-year-old Leonel Lopez Hernandez on Georges Road sometime before 11 p.m.

The vehicle, described as a dark-colored Toyota 4Runner, failed to stop after impact and fled the scene. Witnesses say the driver struck the victim after crossing into the oncoming traffic lane near the South Talmadge Street intersection.

Hernandez, a husband and father of two, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to authorities, the SUV sustained significant damage to the driver's side including a shattered rear window.
