The body of 39-year-old Jamaica Smith was found Monday morning in the side yard of an unoccupied home by a meter reader in Uniondale, Long Island.

This past weekend police arrested two individuals for using Jamaica Smith's credit card.

Lola Vereen, Smith's sister, says police told her the two people in question bought gas and an alcoholic beverage at an undisclosed location. Lola says the two had Smith's photo ID. and actually signed her name.

Smith disappeared on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving. She dropped her six-year-old daughter off at P.S. 156 that morning and has not been seen since.

Smith had lived with another sibling in Las Vegas and then moved on to Tennessee, where she was involved in a relationship that didn't work out. She then moved back to Queens this summer, where she was renovating a house for her and her daughter.

According to a source close to the story, on the Tuesday before her disappearence Smith was walking past a Dunkin Donuts on her way back home, when a maroon Chevy Tahoe pulled up on the sidewalk and blocked her path.

"Some family members were coming around the corner and were calling out to her," a source told PIX News. "The guys didn't do anything they got back in their truck...the family seems to be leaning towards this stalker."

That's a reference to a person that was supposedly hanging around P.S.156 and since the beginning of the school year, had directed his attention toward Smith. Family members say she told the man she wasn't interested.
