RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (WPIX)—
A man known by many local children as " Long Island's Favorite Magician" pleaded guilty to child pornography charges Thursday, officials said.According to Suffolk County prosecutors, Robert Infantino admitted to secretly taping women and girls in a photo studio dressing room at his Central Islip home.
Infantino pleaded guilty to 44 counts of unlawful surveillance and 64 possession of child pornography. A bulk of the charges were filed after investigators said they found hundreds of images on his computer hard drive.
Besides working as a photographer, prosecutors say he performed as "Bob Infantino, Long Island's Favorite Magician."
Infantino, who is 52, faces 5 to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on June 29.
County Court Judge Barbara Kahn said she plans to sentence the disgraced performer to five consecutive prison terms of 1 to 3 years each. Nearly a dozen of Infantino's victims are expected to speak out at next month's sentencing.
