NEW YORK (WPIX)—
As PIX 11 news reporter Greg Mocker continues his search for answers about an MTA cost-cutting czar with a history of "wasteful spending," MTA employees and PIX 11 viewers are flooding his email with notes of encouragement and tips for new investigations. Examples (names withheld to protect identities):• "Thank you, Thank you, for investigating this....unbelievable....this makes me so mad. I trust you will get to the bottom of this. ...Good job, keep up the good work!!!"
• "Keep up the good work w the MTA issue. It's a shame they continue to give us such bad service but keep hiring over paid managers."
• "THAT PIECE U DID TO TONIGHT was excellent!! Haven't watched WPIX in 12 months, but if they have u doing these types of investigative reports I'll b certain to tune in again!! The MTA has t/b embarrassed.... looks like political fix was in."
• "Greg, your insightful and probing journalism proves what I been saying and thinking for many years since the inception of this behemoth. Simply put, it should have been dismantled a long time ago if not even from the inception. Talk about government not listening to its electorate! This beast is a perfect example! Keep up your very exceptional and excellent work! Thanks!"
• "I love how you are bringing all those little (or perhaps very big) secrets of the MTA and other organizations out to the general public. I think the MTA is the worst of all!!!! I can't wait to see who's going to be next. You are the voice for many that are afraid of retaliation if they bring the truth out!!!"
•"Thanks for the work you are doing on the MTA. It's clear there is mismanagement. No wonder every year our fare goes up. I can't understand why everything you brought up is not being addressed and getting more attention?"
• "I'm still shocked, and still glad that you got that 'scoop' -- and were able to report on what seems like more patronage/cushy connections, on our backs/fares. It's gotten beyond disgusting. Decisions are made by men that never take/use the buses/trains."
•"YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY ON TARGET WITH YOUR INFORMATION KEEP THE PRESSURE ON. I KNOW SOMEONE IN HEADQUARTERS. THE WRONG PEOPLE ARE GETTING LET GO. THERE IS A VERY SERIOUS COVER UP. KEEP DIGGING. STAY ON TV WITH YOUR FINDINGS. BUT MOST OF ALL KEEP DIGGING."
•"hey Greg, as lirr train service personnel, we absolutely love your pieces. keep it up. look into (CONFIDENTIAL). they are a tremendous waste of money."
•"Greg, Did you know that they still have (CONFIDENTIAL). sitting in (CONFIDENTIAL). Yes they make 175K a year and (CONFIDENTIAL) You're doing a great job they are scared to talk to you now. lol."
•"Dear Mr. Mocker, I saw your report about the MTA hiring of Diana Jones Ritter to cut costs I was wondering if you could help expose (CONFIDENTIAL)."
•"Greg ! There is stuff going on that you can't believe especially with (CONFIDENTIAL) at [MTA headquarters]. You need to dig, dig, and keep digging and the smell will lead you to your HOLY GRAIL!!"
