NEW YORK (WPIX)—
The wife of an New York City police officer underwent a psychiatric evaluation Wednesday after she lied about being attacked and beaten by a masked black man outside Rockland County home.According to authorities, Tsui Dadamo filed a report with Clarkstown police claiming a black man wearing a bandana on his face, attacked her on Feb 14 in front of the couple's residence. The incident allegedly happened days after husband John Dadamo's tires were slashed outside the home.
The officer's wife later confessed to lying about the attack and admitted to detectives that the injuries were self-inflicted. She admitted to slashing her husband's tires.
Dadamo was taken to Rockland County hospital where she is being treated and evaluated. The results of the psychiatric evaluation were not immediately known.
NYPD detectives are looking into whether Dadamo's bogus story was fueled by allegations that her husband was having an affair with a fellow NYPD police officer, the New York Daily News reported.
