More than two weeks after he pulled a TV from Prospect Park Lake, PIX 11 News reporter Greg Mocker has discovered the city is still ignoring floating junk.

Dressed in fishing waders, Mocker recently returned to the lake to remove a tire residents say has been in the water for a year. It's the same tire Mocker spotted on his first trip to the park - and reported to parks officials.

Parks Department Spokeswoman Vickie Karp, who called Mocker's first report "harsh" was not pleased with this one either. "I'm not accusing you of being unfair. I am accusing you of being overly dogged for entertainment value," Karp told Mocker in a phone call. "Next week, there may be another tire and we will clean it up."

Mocker brought the tire to Parks Dept. headquarters where Karp declined Mocker's request for an on-camera interview. "I'm not going to do the tire show," she said.

Illegal dumping at Prospect Park first came to Mocker's attention in March when the remains of mutilated animals were discovered around the lake.
