FLATBUSH, N.Y. (WPIX) - One man was killed and two others were wounded, after a gunman opened fire inside a Flatbush donut shop Monday night, police said.

According to authorities, the shooting was prompted by an apparent argument that happened outside the shop located at 188 Park Avenue, around 8:30 p.m. The suspect, who remains at large, fled the scene after firing several rounds inside the shop.

18-year-old Brian Scott, a well-known skater in the neighborhood, was killed in the shooting. Two men, aged 20 and 23, were wounded and taken to area hospitals where they are both listed in stable condition. The men were not immediately identified.

Many in the community were shocked to hear the news of the Scott's death. Neighbors described him as a "good kid" who "wouldn't start trouble with anyone."

Several residents as well as community leaders are expected to gather for a prayer vigil and anti-gun rally Tuesday, where they plan on calling for the arrest of the shooter.

"The community feels that this is an ongoing travesty that has reached epidemic proportion," Community Advocate Anthony Herbert told PIX News in a statement. "This is like the 10th or 11th shooting within as much as 72 hours here in Brooklyn and this craziness with these guns really need to stop."

Investigators as well as friends close to the victim, believe the shooting death was a case of mistaken identity. Authorities are hoping surveillance cameras near the crime scene will assist in tracking down the suspect.
