A teacher at a Japanese cultural school in Bergen County has been charged with fondling three students, according to police.
Bergen County authorities say Takuya Ichikawa fondled three children at the Kids International Incorporated School in River Edge. The students are reportedly 6 and 7 years old.
Ichikawa, 21, of Winterburn Grove, Cliffside Park, also works at Matsuwa Market Place on River Road in Edgewater as a cook and cashier, authorities said.
Ichikawa touched the youngsters' genitals over their clothing at Kids International, Inc., a Japanese Cultural School held on Saturday's at 109 Continental Avenue in River Edge, said Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.
The children told detectives the incidents occurred between October 2008 and April 2009, the prosecutor said.
Ichikawa was charged with sexual assault and child endangerment. He had to surrender his passport and is prohibited from contacting the children or their families. He is also being held on $75,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail.
