PATERSON, NY (PIX11) -- A first-grade teacher at P.S. 21 in Paterson, New Jersey managed to infuriate her students, their parents and school administrators with a single Facebook post.
She allegedly posted that she felt like a "warden" and overseeing her students was like watching over "future criminals."
Parents were outraged and contacted the school right away Friday.
The teacher, whose name is not being released by the Paterson School District, is on paid administrative leave.
"I can't believe she says something like that, for the world to see, and she's now on a paid vacation," said one mother coming out of the school, whose son is in the teacher's class.
The Superintendent of schools in Paterson told PIX 11 News that an investigation is underway.
Meantime, some parents hope she does not come back.
"It's like she dropped a bomb, she betrayed our trust, and I will yank my son out of here if she comes back," said a mother who was picking up her 8-year-old son from school Friday afternoon.
