The former head of a faith-based military academy for children in New Jersey has pleaded guilty to a federal child pornography charge.Steven Baryla, a 28-year-old Toms River resident, faces a mandatory penalty of five years in prison and a maximum possible term of 20 years.
Baryla ran the Cedar Bridge Military Academy in Toms River, which admitted children ages 11 to 17.
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office began investigating the case after a tip from someone who had been in e-mail contact with Baryla.
