  5. The Busiest Travel Day Of The Year Is Actually On Time

  9. Homeland Security Boss Napolitano Defends Pat-Downs

Just a week before the busy, Thanksgiving travel season, Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, today defended the new, anti-terrorism security procedures that have some passengers--and even pilots--balking, at some of the nation's largest airports. Napolitano insisted the body scanners that show what's underneath a traveler's clothing are safe--and said the TSA "pat downs" of some passengers, which can include touching the inside of their thighs and feeling their buttocks--are necessary. "We're not doing it just to do it," Napolitano said at a Washington, D.C. press conference. "We have to keep powders and gels and other ingredients that can be used in explosives off planes. We all have a collective role in our security."
