PIX11's Francesca Maxime To Appear At Annual CHC Fundraiser

The Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC) is holding its annual gala event tonight at Pier 60. The 101-year-old organization works with people of all ages and socioeconomic levels to aid in their ability to communicate with greater facility.

The event features food tasting from 28 of the city’s most famous chefs.

This year’s culinary artists include Iron Chef America competitor and executive chef at Butter, Alexandra Guarnaschelli; the Beacon Restaurant & Bar’s Waldy Malouf; and Ed Brown of his namesake Ed’s Chowder House.

The intimate setting allows guests to interact with the chefs as well as famed broadcasters, who shed the microphone for an apron as “sous chefs.”

PIX11’s Francesca Maxime will be paired with Mercadito Restaurant Chef Patricio Sandoval, and they will be serving Taco de Camaron - Shrimp, Chipotle, Mojo and Avocado.

It’s not just the chef’s signature items being presented.

For the first time, the event will feature a seated dessert room, where guests will be served decadent treats while bidding on live auction items conducted by Nicholas Dawes of Antiques Roadhouse.

Items donated to the charity auction include hard-to-get tickets to exclusive venues and performances, including the Tony Award winning Book of Mormon and behind the scenes access to TV shows.

Donations allow the historic nonprofit organization to serve the community’s intense need for affordable, compassionate, and state-of-the-art hearing healthcare.
